For the past two years Mary has been busy working on MONKEY SING, MONKEY DO at Summit Sound recording studio in Westport, Ontario. All of the 21 songs recorded on Mary’s new CD are geared to children between the ages of 2–8, for hours of sing-along and dance-along pleasure. Mary’s original and traditional tunes with a twist, are highly interactive and creative, and they will fill listeners with childhood memories, warmth and humour. A booklet with lyrics, and suggestions for use in the CLASSROOM or at HOME, is included in the CD insert, or alternately, parents or teachers can print lyrics, music helps and colouring pages of “Hannah Banana” from the CD by inserting in their computer. The following talented musicians from across Eastern Ontario contributed their creativity and expertise – Dave Barton/Kingston, Gerry “Dirt” Clancy/Kingston, Pete Pereira/Winchester, Frank Rose/Belleville, Andrew Affleck/Peterborough, Steve Piticco/Belleville, Shawn Kellett/Kingston and Jeremy Daw/Westport. Several background vocalists and children also assisted Mary: Libby Olsen/Barrie, Tabitha Lambert/Kingston; Emily Barker/Barrie; Brittany Jenner/North Bay; Jeremy, Mathieu & Mikaela Piazzi/Kingston, Timothy Johnson/Kingston & Spencer and Michael Shumate/Kingston. Since 1993, Mary Lambert has toured and performed over 2500 shows at schools, daycares, libraries, music festivals and family focused events throughout Canada. Mary Lambert Productions has released 11 CDs, one video and one live concert DVD. She has received two Juno Award Nominations and eight awards from the United States. We are thrilled to announce that in April of 2008, Mary’s song “Buzzy the Busy Bully Bee” was named as a finalist in the International Songwriting Competition (ISC), in Nashville Tennessee and received an honourable mention award. In July 2007 her “Pajama Party” CD and DVD were included in the OUR CHOICE 2007 Publication. Our Choice is the Canadian Children’s Book Centre’s annual guide to the best new Canadian books, magazines, audio and video for children and teens. Mary is a dazzling and dynamic addition to the Canadian children’s music scene, and has had reviews published in Canadian Living Magazine, Today’s Parent, Resource Links for Canadian Elementary Schools, and B.C.
